A new American-style restaurant and bar could be opening in Ashford.
Burger speciality chain Coast to Coast has revealed plans to move into one of two new food outlets proposed for the Eureka Leisure Park.
The scheme for the two units, which is due to go before Ashford Borough Council’s planning committee in April, has been put forward by London-based Indigo Planning on behalf of Ashford developer Leisure II Limited.
Coast to Coast, which serves pizzas, seafood and steaks as well as burgers, would join Frankie & Benny’s, Nando’s and Chiquito restaurant bar and Mexican grill on the entertainment park in Rutherford Road.
Other Coast to Coast restaurants can be found in Rochester, Wembley, Newcastle and Birmingham.
The proposals would result in two single-storey food outlets being built close to Cineworld, plus additional parking spaces.
If approved, the work would be carried out in two phases.
In phase one the first restaurant would be built opposite Pizza Hut as a stand-alone unit with 24 parking spaces.
A second restaurant and 29 parking spaces would be created adjoining Cineworld as part of phase two.
Coast to Coast would move into the first unit.
It is not known if anyone has expressed any interest to move into the second unit.
The opening of two new food outlets will also create employment opportunities in the town, say the developers.
A report on the project states: “The provision and occupation of these units will provide further full-time and part-time employment opportunities in the leisure park in a variety of roles and skill sets.”
It adds that the new restaurants will “increase consumer choice and further complement the existing leisure facilities at Eureka Leisure Park”, as well as improving parking availability and add additional landscaping on the site.
Other facilities on the Eureka Leisure Park include a 12-screen cinema, with capacity for 2,100 people, seven restaurants, a? children’s nursery, a hotel and a health club.
To the north of the site is Dobbies Garden Centre, a Beefeater Restaurant, a drive-thru McDonald’s, a Premier Inn hotel and open green space.
