Antique furniture stolen from house near Ashford

Rare items of antique furniture have been stolen from a house, prompting a police appeal.

Officers were contacted on Wednesday, April 22 after the home - in a village near Ashford - was targeted by thieves.

The stolen items include a walnut commode, a Chinese style dresser, a mahogany chest of drawers, a mahogany commode and a George III mahogany press.

The Georgian linen press alone could be worth upwards of £1,500.

A police spokesman said: "We are releasing images of some of the stolen items and urging anyone who is offered any of the furniture for sale to contact them.

"Anyone with information should call police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/72219/20.
