Police and ambulance crews called to High Street, Ashford, after man is reportedly assaulted

Blood and tissues were left on the side of the road after a man was attacked in Ashford.

Police and two ambulances were called to the lower High Street just after 8pm yesterday following reports a man had been assaulted.

He is believed to have suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

However, the man refused to help officers with an investigation into the incident.

A spokesman for the police said: "Kent Police was called at 8.07pm on Friday, August 14 to the High Street, Ashford, to reports a man had been assaulted.

"Officers attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance (SECAMB) and carried out initial inquiries.

"The man was treated at the scene by SECAMB but refused to support any further investigations into the incident."
