Ashford man Owen Lane charged with attempted murder after suspected house party stabbing

A 22-year-old Ashford man has been charged with attempted murder after a suspected house party stabbing.

Police were called to the address in Lakemead, Singleton, around 6am on Saturday.

A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries and was fighting for his life in a London hospital.

Officers said his condition is currently described as stable.

The street was cordoned off for several hours and officers were seen talking to neighbours.

A police spokesman said at the time that a man had been taken to hospital with "injuries consistent with a stabbing."

Owen Lane, 22, of Imperial Way was charged with attempted murder today and has been remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates Court via video link today.

A 19-year-old man who was arrested the following day is still on police bail until July 20.

Social media reports shortly afterwards said that forensics teams were searching in the gardens for a bread knife, and there were rumours the house party was gatecrashed.
