An illegally parked van caused traffic chaos in Ashford town centre today.
Police were called to the junction of Tufton Street and Bank Street to a report a van parked on the side of the share space scheme was preventing buses from passing.
Witness Andy Clark said: "A bus couldn't get around the van. So a queue quickly formed behind it which strectched back to Elwick Road and to the traffic lights near the station.
"A traffic warden turned up and a supervisor for the bus company called the police.
"A PCSO arrived and noticed a window was open. However the driver then turned up."
The driver was issued with a traffic notice.
Stagecoach tweeted: "Due to an incident in the town centre, some local services are experiencing delays."
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "We were called at 2.51pm to an obstruction in Bank Street, Ashford.
"It was reported that a vehicle was parked half on the road and half on the pavement.
"The caller said he couldn’t pass and the road was blocked as a result.
"Patrols attended, officers spoke to the driver and the vehicle was moved.
"Apparently a parking ticket has also been issued. This was resolved by 3.07pm."
