Barclays in Ashford High Street closed for seven-week long refurbishment

A bank branch in Ashford town centre will be closed for seven week as it undergoes a major refurbishment.
Barclays, located on High Street, will not reopen until next month due to engineers working to install the company's latest technology.
The bank is located on the first floor of the building, accessible by a lift and escalator, both of which are set to be replaced.
Will Dixon, Community Banking Director for Barclays in Kent said: “To provide a modern banking environment for both our customers and colleagues, we are investing heavily in our Ashford branch by refurbishing the banking hall and installing our latest technology.
"The initial work took place during the evenings and weekends but because of the scale of the work, including replacing the escalator and the lift, it has been necessary to close the branch temporarily.
"The branch will reopen on Monday, June 19.
"While the branch is closed, both personal and business customers can use Post Offices for their basic banking needs including paying in cash and cheques and withdrawing cash.
"Customers can also use other Barclays branches, and while the Ashford branch is closed Tenterden will be open on Saturdays from 0930 to 1400.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this refurbishment may cause.”
