A barber is to say goodbye to the beard he says has 'really grown on him' after a year.
Wez Brooks, 37, from Willesborough, has spent nearly 12 months growing the impressive facial hair and will now shave it off to raise cash for charity.
The owner of Brooks Barbers has already raised over £500 for the Kent Ambulance Trust but hopes to raise even more at the big shave this Friday at 2pm. (November 14)
Spectators are invited to his salon in Bank Street to watch him say bye to the beard.
He said: "I have always been completely clean shaven, my wife wouldn’t even kiss me if I had a bit of stubble.
"But a year ago I bet her that I could grow a massive one like the men on TV because she thought I wouldn’t do it.
"Now I have and do I get mocked all the time for it but I absolutely love everything about it and don’t really want to get rid of it!”
Wez added that he had to agree to let both his employees take the razor to his beard.
He said: "They were both so keen to get rid of it I said they could do half each!
"I’m raising money for the Air Ambulance because they are absolutely amazing.
“My son does motocross racing and we know a few people who wouldn’t be here today without them, so I just want to do whatever I can.”
