Police issue advice after theft of black Guess bag from a beach in East Cliff, Folkestone
11:13, 22 July 2013
Police are reminding people not to leave valuables unattended on the beach, after a theft in Folkestone yesterday.
A bag containing money and a phone was stolen from a beach near East Cliff, after the victim went swimming in the sea.
People making the most of the continuing sunshine are advised not make themselves easy targets, after the black Guess bag with gold lettering was taken.
The force recommends beach-goers carry mobile phones and other valuables with them at all times, and always keep their belongings in view and within reaching distance.
Parents who may appear distracted as they play with their children are also urged to be vigilant.
If you saw anyone holding the bag, or who was acting suspiciously, at just after 4.30pm on Sunday, contact DC Mandy Poulter on 07528 989057, quoting reference ZY/020598/13.
