Facelift and bakery plans for Lidl supermarket in New Street, Ashford
12:02, 15 December 2013
Renovation work planned for a town centre supermarket is likely to begin in the early part of next year.
Lidl have applied to Ashford Borough Council for permission to modify the outside of their store in New Street, Ashford.
The plans include changes to the existing height of parts of the store, as well as construction of full height glazing across the shop front, and a replacement entrance and exit lobby.
These external changes will be mirrored inside, with a full internal modernisation planned, including the provision of a bakery.
A Lidl spokesman said: “The application is for improvements to the facade of the store, to coincide with a planned full internal refurbishment and modernisation that is due to start in March 2014."
