A motorcyclist was seen receiving CPR at the roadside after a serious accident with a tractor.
The A20 was closed in both directions on Ashford Road for around five and a half hours.
There were long delays after the incident, which happened at about 4pm between Potters Corner and Fougeres Way, on a sharp bend near the Hare and Hounds pub.
Kent County Council is recommending that drivers use alternative routes, as the road is expected to be "closed for several hours".
The South East Coast Ambulance Service and police are in attendance, with one witness reportedly seeing the bike rider being given CPR at the scene.
Witnesses said police were taking photographs of the scene as they carried out an investigation.
