Rolling roadblock between Junctions 10 and 9 on M20, Ashford area to bring woman to safety

Police set up a rolling roadblock to bring a woman on a bridge to safety.
It was set up on the M20 westbound between Ashford's Junctions 10 and 9.
Traffic was made to queue up on the road after officers were called at 11.37am today (Saturday).
They got to her within half an hour.
A police spokesman said: " Kent Police were called due to concern for the welfare of a woman on a footbridge crossing the M20 between Junctions 10 and 9.
"A rolling road block was put in place but the woman was brought to safety by about 12.05pm."
In a separate incident both carriageways of the M20 had been closed earlier this morning, west of Maidstone, after police tried to reach a distressed man on a footbridge.
He was also brought to safety.
