Cadbury turning on Chilham Christmas tree lights

12:20, 22 November 2017

Residents in Chilham are getting ready to welcome popular confectionery company, Cadbury, to their village tomorrow to set off the festive period.

An enormous 20ft people-powered Christmas tree will be set up in the village square which people will be encouraged to light up by standing on pressure pads.

When all ten pads are full, the tree will shine a bright shade of Cadbury purple.

Helpers in festive jumpers will be on hand to encourage visitors to take part.

They’ll be armed with Cadbury products and hot chocolate for all those who help to illuminate the giant Christmas tree.

Declan Duggan, Senior Brand Manager at Mondelèz International, said: “This year, we wanted to deliver the magic of Christmas across the whole of the UK by granting the nation’s top Christmas wishes in the run up to the festive season.

"We love seeing the community come together here in Kent to help light up our Cadbury Giant Christmas tree.”

The event in Chilham is part of the annual Cadbury Cadvent campaign, where the company grants a range of Christmas wishes in the countdown to the day.

The free event will take place in Chilham Square tomorrow from 4 to 7pm.
