Car crashes into Queen's Head pub in Kingsnorth, Ashford
15:30, 11 October 2017
A village pub has been forced to close today after a car smashed into it.
The landlady of the Queen's Head in Kingsnorth, Ashford, was woken up by a loud bang at around 9.30am as the car appeared to veer off the road and "embed" itself into the front of the building.
Luckily, nobody was injured.
The landlord, Julian Fisher, said: "It was a bit of a shock for my wife to come outside this morning and see that a car had embedded itself in the pub.
"The driver of the car was okay, no injuries.
"We have had to close the pub for today but we've had a structural engineer come round and make sure everything is safe."
Although a part of the fireplace has been lost, the pub itself has been deemed safe and will be opening as usual tomorrow. It will still be hosting its events this weekend.
Mr Fisher continued: "We don't want to let the customers down so we will be back up and running normally by tomorrow!"
The Queen's Head will be opening at noon tomorrow, getting ready for their Friday music event.
