An elderly woman had cash stolen from her handbag while shopping in Ashford town centre.
The incident is believed to have happened inside the lift of a store in Park Street between 2.55pm and 3.05pm on Friday November 4.
It was reported that while she was using the lift, the woman was joined by two women who are believed to have spoken with Eastern European accents.
One woman asked the victim for the time and, as they were talking, she noticed the other getting physically close to her.
The doors of the lift then opened and both ran into a nearby store.
When she checked her handbag, the elderly woman noticed cash had been taken from inside.
Both suspects are described as having dark skin and thin builds.
The first had dark hair and was wearing dark trousers with a light coloured jacket.
The second is reported to have worn dark trousers with a long, dark coat.
