People queued at kiosks across France this morning for the first edition of the weekly to go on sale since last week’s attacks.

Some newsagents reported selling out within 15 minutes.

The demand prompted bosses to order a further two million copies of the special edition, meaning five million will go on sale in total.

Islamist gunmen murdered eight journalists at Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris over previous depictions of the Prophet Mohammed.

In total 17 people were killed last week in France.
