Motorbike crash closes A28 Ashford Road, Tenterden

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash which closed an A-road in both directions, sparking long queues.
Investigation work was undertaken on the A28 Ashford Road in Tenterden following the incident between the junctions for Turners Avenue and Oaks Road.
A car was also involved in the collision, and officers diverted traffic via Oaks Road.
KCC Highways has warned motorists to expect delays.
The motorcyclist is understood to have suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
A police spokesman said: “We were called to a report of a collision between a motorbike and a car on the A28 Ashford Road in Tenterden at 12.15pm on Wednesday 3 April 2024.
“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital.
“The road was closed between Oaks Road and Beacon Oak Road while enquiries were completed.
“It reopened shortly before 4.30pm.”
