There was a near record attendance at this year’s Tenterden Folk Festival which was blessed with glorious weather.
Thousands of people lined the High Street for the traditional procession of morris sides on Saturday, led as always by Woodchurch Morris Men who have had the honour since the festival began 21 years ago.
Venues hosting sing-a-rounds and workshops over the four days were busy, with many revellers staying on for the last events on Sunday night.
Festival director Alan Castle said: “It all went really well. We had a near record attendance."
“The procession got a lot of good comments. We had a record number of 30 sides and some were new to the festival – the colour of the costumes was amazing."
“Every venue was really busy and some were packed with people."
