Cyclist attacked during robbery in Ashford's Newtown Road underpass

A cyclist making his way through an Ashford underpass was set upon by two men in a violent robbery.
The victim had his mountain bike, coat, wallet and mobile phone stolen during the assault in Newtown Road this morning.
Two men struck the cyclist in the face with a carrier bag loaded with a heavy item.
He was then assaulted further while on the ground.
The suspects made off after taking the items, but the bike was later recovered in Samuel Peto Way.
The victim of the attack, which happened at about 9.55am, is in his 30s.
Police have released a CCTV image of one of the men they are trying to locate.
Detective Sergeant Tony Edwards said: "Investigators have been checking CCTV in the area following this incident and are now releasing an image of a man who may be able to assist us with our inquiries.
"Anybody who recognises him is urged to call our appeal line at their earliest opportunity."
Officers are also asking motorists with dashcam who were in the area at the time of the incident, and residents or businesses with privately held CCTV, to check for footage that may assist the investigation.
