A crash involving three lorries caused long queues on the M20 this morning.
The smash happened on the M20 between junction 11 for Hythe and 11a for the Channel Tunnel at around 8am.
The London-bound side was closed until just before 2pm. Delays have now cleared.
The drivers suffered only minor injuries, but the accident left a trail of debris across the carriageway.
Traffic backed up at junction 11 for Hythe and the Folkestone services.
A police spokesman said: "A lorry driver was said to have suffered a facial injury and required an ambulance. Emergency services are on the scene."
Firefighters from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service's technical rescue team were sent to the scene.
A total of four engines were called.
Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment and heavy rescue equipment to rescue a man trapped in the cab of one of the vehicles.
A spokesman said: "This involved setting up two working platforms and using hydraulic cutting equipment so that crews could successfully release the casualty and hand him into the care of the ambulance service."
The lorry crash happened shortly after police were called to the same area following a separate accident involving one vehicle.
A car is said to have crashed into the central reservation near junction 11 at around 6am.
Two lanes were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, causing delays of 30 minutes.
A man in his 50s was taken to hospital.
