A doctor has raised thousands for Cancer Research after walking almost 700 miles.
Dr Julian Colledge’s trek to Land’s End followed his retirement party and fund-raiser for the Pilgrims Hospice on May 2.
The Hamstreet doctor finished his epic journey last week.
Now rested, he said: “I feel absolutely perfect!
“I walked about 650 miles in 40 days - and it took me nine and a half hours to come back by train.”
Highlights included visiting the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, seeing basking sharks in action and some impressive raging seas following a storm.
Dr Colledge started his walk from Hamstreet on May 2, walking first to Rye, then along the coast to Hastings and Eastbourne. From there he took the South Downs Way to Winchester and then the Clarendon Way to Salisbury, through the New Forest to Bournemouth and Sandbanks, Poole.
Then he followed the South West Coast Path and arrived at Land’s End.
