Ashford: Volkswagen Polo driver, 38, arrested as part of kidnap investigation

Police stopped a car with no tax or insurance - and ended up arresting the driver on suspicion of kidnap.
Officers pulled over the green Volkswagen Polo during a routine stop in Canterbury Road in Ashford in the early hours of this morning.
They arrested the driver, a 38-year-old man who also had no licence or MOT, as part of an ongoing investigation into a kidnap in the Ashford area.
The driver, who was stopped just before 12.30am, is from the town.
