Driver trapped in van after two vehicle smash on the A28 in Great Chart, Ashford

Firefighters freed a driver who was trapped in a van after a nasty smash with a BMW this morning.
Emergency crews, including police and ambulance, were called to the A28 in Great Chart at 11.12am.
The road was closed in both directions between the Tithe Barn Lane junction and the Great Chart turn off junction but has since reopened.
Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to rescue the man who was trapped in the vehicle due to his injuries.
The van driver was then rushed to hospital but the extent of the injuries are not yet known.
Police said the BMW driver had no reported injuries.
