Police and ambulance crews were called to a shopping centre after a customer was taken ill.
Security guards blocked all entrances to Ashford's County Square at about 6pm, while four ambulances were parked up outside.
Officers were seen entering the centre via the Elwick Road entrance next to the town's former Debenhams.
In a statement released to KentOnline, a County Square spokeswoman confirmed a customer was taken ill.
"Our teams are working with the emergency services to cooperate fully with their investigations," she said.
"We will not be making any further comment at this time."
