A family endured a lucky escape early this morning after fire ripped through a bedroom at their home.
Fire crews were called to the house in Godmersham, between Ashford and Canterbury, at 6.50am to reports of a blaze in the bedroom.
But the family of four - three children and their mother - escaped unharmed.
Two crews from Ashford and Canterbury attended the fire for around an hour using breathing apparatus but contained the flames.
Ashford crew manager Neil Jones said: "There was a bedroom fire in Godmersham which two pumps attended, one from Ashford and one from Canterbury.
"The bedroom was completely destroyed.
"A mum and her three kids got out and called us.
"We were there for around an hour. It had smoke alarms fitted which helped raise the alarm."
