Motorists called the fire brigade after spotting a lorry zooming down the motorway laden with a skip with a load on fire.
Motorists spotted the flames as the lorry travelled from Folkestone past junction 10 of the M20 at 1.15pm today.
It was on its way to the Cobbs Wood Industrial Estate in Ashford when it was flagged down by a fire crew, and firefighters arrived to douse the flames.
The skip was taken off the back of the lorry in Templer Way, near the Repton Park estate, and the road reopened shortly after.
