Fire crews were called to a cosmetics factory after staff reported a burning smell on the ground floor of the site.
The firefighters went to the Coty site at Bradfield Road in Ashford at 7.45am after the call.
Witnesses said they saw staff gathering in the nearby Eureka Leisure Park after the building was evacuated.
Coty manufactures products including Rimmel London make-up and cosmetics at the site.
The fire brigade said a thermal imaging camera was used and thorough checks were carried out, but did not find any signs of fire or smoke.
