Fire crews rescued two young children this morning who had become trapped in their bedroom.
A parent was forced to call on the services of Ashford firefighters at 6.30am after a door handle broke at a house in Bramble Lane, Wye, leaving two youngsters stuck in the room.
Crews managed to work on the lock and release the children without breaking the door.
Watch manager Mark Thomas said: "The children woke up before anyone else in the house.
"However when they tried to leave their room the handle just kept going around and around and wouldn't open.
"We manipulated the lock, without causing any damage to the door.
"The children remained very calm, and were quite pleased to see us."
