Firefighters tackle blaze in a 'range' of farm buildings - including stables and a workshop - in Hurst Lane, in Charing

A woman, believed to be around 40, has been injured in a blaze in farm buildings in Charing.

Firefighters are currently at the scene in Hurst Lane tackling a fire in a 'range' of farm buildings - including stables and a workshop.

Six fire engines and a water tanker were called to the scene around 3pm and are still on site.

A fire spokesman said the fire is fully-developed and affecting an a range of building "including stables, outbuildings workshops and sheds in an area approximately 100 metres by 30 metres."

Firefighters are using breathing apparatus, two hose reels, two main jets and a light portable pump to put out the fire, as well as a bulk water carrier

The ambulance is currently attending to the woman who has burns to her arm but the extent of her injuries are not yet known.

Police and ambulance are also in attendance.

Motorists have been warned to expect delays in the area and make alternative routes where possible.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
