Firefighters tackled a digger fire at a recycling business in Ashford this afternoon.

Crews were called to Brunswick Road in the Cobbs Wood Industrial Estate at 2.51pm after reports the large machinery had caught alight.

Two pumps were sent and teams used a hose reel jet and foam to extinguish the flames.

Witnesses reported seeing black billowing smoke coming from the area.

Crews spent around 30 minutes at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
