A fireworks display and festive light switch-on event has been cancelled at shopping centre in Ashford.
Ashford Designer Outlet was set to host the event to mark the official opening of its £90 million expansion on Thursday.
But now, centre bosses have announced that it will not take place as "animal safety must take priority".
Alternative Christmas-themed entertainment will take place over the course of the day, including an elf workshop and Santa's post room to keep younger guests entertained.
Bosses will take the wraps of a handful of new stores and The Garden of Light installation will also be unveiled.
A spokesperson for Ashford Designer Outlet said: "Following advice from a number of animal welfare charities and local authorities we have taken the decision to cancel the planned fireworks display and festive light switch-on which was due to take place on Thursday evening.
"While we know some visitors will be disappointed, animal safety must take priority.
"We are still welcoming guests to join us as we celebrate the launch of the festive season with the opening of The Garden of Light, live entertainment, Santa’s workshops and prize giveaways throughout the day."
Other fireworks displays will still be going ahead across the county, including in Cantebrury.
