Five people taken to hospital following serious crash on A20 near Mersham

Five people have been receiving treatment at hospitals in London and Kent following a serious crash on the A20 near Mersham on Sunday.
The road was closed for more than nine hours after the crash at 3.15pm.
Emergency services including firefighters were called to the scene.
The incident involved two vehicles, and the road was closed until 11.29pm while officers conducted enquiries at the scene.
A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a reported two vehicle collision on the A20 in Mersham at 3.13pm on Sunday, June 4.
“The South East Coast Ambulance Service were also called and treated people at the scene.
“One child, who was taken to a London hospital, has been transferred to a local hospital and their condition is now described as stable.
“The other child has been discharged from hospital.
“The man in his thirties and the woman passenger have both now been taken to a London hospital where their condition is described as serious but stable.
“The driver of the BMW has been transferred to a London hospital.”
Motorists were advised to plan ahead and consider using other routes.
