Lessons from a tough season in the Ryman League can help Folkestone Invicta return stronger next season.

Manager Neil Cugley (pictured) says the club can benefit on and off the pitch from the experience, despite finishing bottom of the Premier Division.

Invicta finish their season on Saturday at home to fourth-placed Lowestoft and, with his own side’s relegation confirmed, Cugley is still looking forward to the match.

He said: "It’s not a bad game to end on because Lowestoft still need to win to secure a play-off place.

"They will probably bring a hundred or so fans down, so it should be a good occasion."

Roland Edge is Invicta’s only doubt, having suffered a back injury which forced him off at half-time in Monday’s 2-0 defeat against Maidstone.

Cugley said: "We have been a little bit out of our depth at this level, as we knew we could be with our small squad.

"We just want to enjoy the last game of the season now and start thinking about going back to Division 1."

He added: "Teams in the Ryman Premier do everything right and we could learn from our mistakes and run things a little more professionally."
