Four rats rescued from burning flat in High Street, New Romney this afternoon

Four pet rats have been rescued this afternoon after a blaze broke out at a property in New Romney.
It was reported at 2.35pm that a fire had broke out in a first floor flat above a commercial premises.
Fire crews from Lydd, New Romney and Ashford all attended the blaze, in the High Street
Firefighters entered the building wearing breathing apparatus and extinguished the flames.
No one was reported as injured and everyone - including the four rats - were accounted for.
The cause of the fire in not yet known.
