Police are looking for a good Samaritan who stopped his car to interrupt an alleged assault on a key Ashford street.
Officers were called to the junction of Chart Road and Repton Manor Road following reports of a disturbance between a man and a woman on Sunday, October 21, between 8pm and 8.30pm.
A passer-by intervened in order to help the woman, who was in distress after suffering an injury to her face.
A 63-year-old man from Glasgow was arrested in nearby Manor Way on suspicion of assault and has been released on bail until Thursday, November 15.
Officers thanked the woman who assisted at the scene of the disturbance and hope to speak to a man who is understood to have stopped his car to assist but had left before police arrived.
Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage that was driving past at the time and can assist with enquiries is asked to call 01843 222289 as soon as possible, quoting reference ZY/063681/18.
