Police helicopter circles Ashford as officers arrest man in connection with Hastingleigh disturbance

A police helicopter circled Ashford town centre this afternoon as officers made an arrest on the ground.
Police were originally alerted to a disturbance in the village of Hastingleigh at about 3.30pm before shifting their focus seven miles away to the town.
A helicopter was hovering above Ashford at about 4.30pm.
Officers arrested a man and he remains in custody.
A force spokesman confirmed police were originally called out "to a report of a disturbance at a property in Hastingleigh".
"Officers attended the scene and, following inquiries, a man was arrested in Ashford town centre in connection with the incident," they said.
"He has been taken into custody and an investigation is underway."
