A travel company in Ashford is supporting the family of a boy who died on a family holiday in France.
Venue Holidays, which has an office in Norwood Street, released a statement after the 11-year-old drowned at a campsite in the Picardy region, north-east of Paris, on Thursday.
The family, believed to be from East Yorkshire, had booked through the Ashford firm.
A statement from Venue Holidays said: "Our hearts go out to the family concerned at this awful time.
"A senior director is on the campsite to offer assistance to the family and to ascertain what has happened.
"We will of course co-operate fully with the owners of the campsite and with any official enquiry that the French authorities may instigate.
"We will help the family in whatever way is possible and would request that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."
The tragedy happened at La Croix du Vieux Pont campsite at about 6.30pm on Thursday.
A helicopter flew the boy to a hospital in Paris but he could not be revived.
The campsite, according to Venue Holidays, has a fishing and boating lake next to children's activities, as well as a man-made swimming lake with a beach. There is also an indoor and outdoor swimming pool complex.
