A head teacher from Wye is one of only 100 from across the country to be chosen for a major educational support role.
Kevin Grout of the Lady Joanna Thornhill primary school has been named a National Leader of Education in the latest recruitment round by the National College for School Leadership (NCSL).
As a result, the school is designated a National Support School, which in turn means that Mr Grout and his staff will be able to offer coaching, consultancy and leadership to schools in difficulty.
Mr Grout is one of only six headteachers in Kent to be appointed by NCSL.
The news of the appointment follows a good Ofsted report, in which the school was described as "outstanding".
Mr Grout said: "I was absolutely delighted with the Ofsted report.
"For my team to receive outstanding across all areas was a huge achievement and a reflection of their professionalism and dedication.
"I am very proud of them."
He added: "This latest recognition by NCSL will enable us to share the good practice we have with other schools for the benefit of a wider number of children."
