Firefighters had to rescue a horse that ended up stuck in a ditch.
The animal, which was trapped in 2ft of water, had to be lifted out by
a special crane.
The incident happened at noon today near the Ashford Designer
Outlet, Kimberley Way, Ashford.
Watch manager Mick Dennis said: “We don’t know what happened but we
think the horse slipped in.
“It was standing up to its belly in 2ft of water in the stream, but not hurt.”
A fire crew from Folkestone were first on the scene, followed by Kent Fire and
Rescue Service’s animal rescue unit from Faversham.
They then lifted the black and white animal out with a crane and it
was allowed to wander back into its neighbouring field.
The animal’s plight had been witnessed by a member of the public who
called fire crews. They were at the scene for an hour.
