Police called to Ashford town centre as three vehicles spotted outside McDonald’s and Boots as man in his 20s later arrested

A 29-year-old was arrested following a huge police response in a town centre.
Three police cars, including an unmarked Ford, and a van were parked in Ashford High Street shortly after 2pm yesterday (July 30).
At least 15 officers were at the scene between Boots and McDonald's at the junction with North Street.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Kent Police was made aware of a disturbance involving a group of people in Ashford High Street shortly after 2pm on Tuesday.
“It was alleged a man had been making threats to those present.
“Officers attended and the group dispersed.”
A suspect was later arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
He was later released without charge.
No injuries were reported following the incident.
