The hunt is on for Ashford borough’s best architecture.
Nominations are being sought for the 2009 Building Design Awards.
The aim of the awards is to encourage local people to take an interest in building design across the borough and Ashford Borough Council will be asking residents for their favourites.
The awards highlight some of the different ways good design can improve the built environment and quality of life for everyone.
Anyone who lives or works in Ashford can make a nomination as long as the building was completed between January 2006 and March 2009.
There are various categories for all sectors of design including residential development; commercial, industrial and retail; building conservation; sustainable design; public realm and special one-off scheme.
Cllr John Kemp, portfolio holder for planning and development, said: “We have a number of varied and spectacular buildings in the borough and this awards scheme provides an opportunity to showcase them.”
“We would love to hear from you if you know of a project in the borough, completed in the last three years, that you think represents the best in design.”
Entries are free and the winning project will receive an award presented by the Mayor at a ceremony in December. To enter visit www.ashford.gov.uk
