Immigration Enforcement officers have carried out a raid on a shopping centre.
Three Home Office vehicles remain at the Ashford Designer Outlet, with centre management believed to be speaking with the enforcers.
A spokesman for the outlet, which is currently being expanded, said: "Immigration enforcement officers attended McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Ashford this morning to carry out a routine right-to-work document check of site workers.
"Main contractor McLaren is working with local officers to provide information as required."
In a statement, McLaren said: “We operate with multiple sub-contractors and UK agencies for additional labour who must complete a vetting process and have the correct documentation to work on our sites.
"We are working closely with UK Immigration to ensure complete transparency and cooperation."
