Spice of India restaurant could open in Bank Street, Ashford

An empty town centre unit could soon be filled by an Indian restaurant.
A planning application has revealed that a new venture called 'Spice of India' might be taking up a spot under Trafalgar House in Bank Street, Ashford.
The 60 sq m shell is located on a row of units next to the Global Bullion Vault, which neighbours TK's Fish and Chips and Fireaway – two units that both opened late last year.
The application is to add an illuminated sign to the frontage, however the interior looks to be a long way away from opening.
A decision on the proposal is expected for July 2.
On the opposite side of Bank Street, the former RJ's American Diner site is set to be filled by the Sky Restaurant.
An opening date is not yet known, but contractors have been working on the site for months.
