Kent supporter reaches century

KENT County Cricket Club's chief executive Paul Millman has paid tribute to one of the team's most loyal members.
After retirement from the Metropolitan Police, former inspector John Clark, from New Romney, has driven thousands of miles, stayed in dozens of hotels and travelled to almost every first-class cricket venue while following Kent since 1997.
Kent’s championship clash with Leicestershire marked John’s 100th successive match following the county and that dedication was rewarded with the gift of a Kent shirt signed by the entire county squad.
“I’ve been to every county and a fair few of the out grounds now, but Blackpool will be new to the list this season,” said John. “I do love Canterbury of course, but other than St Lawrence I would say my favourite is Trent Bridge. The facilities for supporters are excellent. You get a good view of the game and, despite being a Test venue, they have retained the character of the old ground.”
