Police were called to the crash at about 3.30am.
A spokesman said: "Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where two men were treated for injuries.
"One of the men has been taken to a London hospital with serious injuries and the second was conveyed to a local hospital for further medical attention."
The A20 remained closed between Cooper's Lane and Station Road while officers carried out inquiries into the circumstances of the crash and the vehicles were recovered.
