Lorry driver hurt in suspected road rage attack at Tanners Hill, Hythe

12:01, 04 July 2013

A lorry driver was kicked and punched on the road by a car passenger.

The attacker ran off, rather than getting back into the car, which then itself took off from the scene.

It happened at 11.20am on Monday at Tanners Hill in Hythe.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “The car pulled out in front of the lorry and a man in the passenger seat got out and gestured to the lorry driver.

“The driver got out to speak to the man who then suddenly punched him in the face and kicked him in the stomach.

“He then ran off and the car drove off in a different direction.”

It is uncertain what the motive was and the incident has not been confirmed as a typical road rage incident.

But police say the assault was witnessed by a number of people.

The car involved is described as silver with an 02 registration, possible a Citroen Saxo.
