Lorry crashes off motorway

A lorry has veered off the M20 after a crash with a car ending up at the bottom of an embankment.

The accident happened between J9 (Ashford) and J8 (Leeds Castle) on the London-bound side.

A total of two lanes have been closed to help with recovering the vehicle and no injuries have been reported.

A temporary 50mph speed limit has been put in place around the cordon.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called at 5.50am on Saturday 7 July to a report a car and lorry had been involved in a collision and had gone onto an embankment.

"No injuries were reported.

"Recovery work is ongoing by the Highways Agency."

Highways said in a Tweet traffic is slow on the approach and drivers should expect delays.
