Ashford primary school children had an unusual visitor today... when a lost chipmunk was found outside their gates.
The unusual rodent, which has distinctive stripes on its back, was discovered in the rain outside St Mary's Primary, in Western Avenue.
The animal - native to North America - is believed to be a lost pet and has been taken to Barrow Hill Veterinary Hospital, in Maidstone Road.
Staff at the surgery believe it is a female and said she is in good health.
