A mother from Ashford is flying high after scooping more than £4,000 in kmfm's Loose Change competition.

It was 11th time lucky for Lisa Collins who successfully guessed how much was in the radio station’s money pot - a sum of £4,173 - last Friday during Drivetime with Rob Wills.

Mrs Collins, from Kennington, said: “I am so excited.

“I was at my friends house with my daughter when I guessed, and we were all screaming.

"I knew it started with a four and had a seven in it, and I just had an inkling it was that number.”

Mrs Collins now plans to spend her winnings on a new car and treating the family.

“I have never won that much money before. I want to upgrade my car. But also hopefully have some fun with it," she added.

The Loose Change competition has been running for 11 weeks after starting on kmfm in January.

Listeners had five chances every day to guess the correct amount of change in the pot, which was somewhere between £500 and £5,000.

More than 270 incorrect answers had been given before Mrs Collins, who is mum to Joseph, 14, and Ellie-May, 11, correctly guessed 4,173.

Dedicated Mrs Collins, 38, said: “I’d been mad about it. I’d got through about ten times before.

“I’d been writing down all the guesses on paper and keeping a list.

“I called every day - I drove my husband mad. The TV would be paused and the radio would come on.

“I was determined. My sister also entered, and she got through to the radio three times."
