Part of the M20 remained closed until 7am this morning after overnight roadworks overran.
The London-bound stretch was shut between J9 for Ashford and J8 for Maidstone/Leeds Castle.
The motorway was due to reopen at 6am, but it was delayed because of broken-down machinery at the scene.
Motorists were initially asked to follow a diversion route along the A20 through Charing, but the motorway has now re-opened and the residual delays are quickly clearing.
