Part of the M20 will be closed tonight while work continues to store the temporary crash barriers.
The London-bound stretch will be shut between junction 9 for Ashford and junction 8 for Maidstone.
The motorway is due to shut at 9pm tonight and will re-open at 6am tomorrow morning.
Diversion routes have been put in place for drivers along the A20 towards Maidstone or via the A20 through Dover and joining the M2 and A249 to rejoin the motorway.
It is the latest round of work being carried out to relocate the removable barriers on the hard shoulder to the central reservation in a project leading to drivers being warned of a year of disruption along the M20.
This comes after the announcement earlier this month that Operation Brock has been deactivated between Ashford and Maidstone.
The contraflow system on the coast-bound carriageway has been removed.
National Highways has now started work on the 15-mile stretch to shift the moveable barrier on the hard shoulder to the central reservation.
As well as this, the Westwell Lane bridge which passes over the M20 will be undergoing repairs and maintenance.
It will be closed from just north of the bridge to the first property on the south side.
This will take place between 8pm and 6am for up to five nights starting tonight.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A20, Watery Lane and Westwell Lane.
No vehicles will be able to cross the bridges during the closures.
